Finally done with IPN
Finally, against all odds, I've finished the Paypal IPN/password management script that I was writing for www.advanced-stock-selection.com! After many days of trying to get Paypal's CGI script to work with Mr. Meehan's server, I finally gave up. I decided that if I was going to get the password management to work, I would simply have to write my own.
I wrote a backend php system that links with a mysql database. After subscribing to one of Mr. Meehan's services, the user is redirected to a subscription page. A form's completed, everything is loaded into the database, and the user is automatically logged in. Depending on the user's access level, he or she can access certain parts of the subscription service.
I'm extremely satisfied with the application I wrote. It's been a while since I've sat down and tried figuring out a solution to a real world problem, and I'm extremely happy that I could complete it. I was referred my Mrs. McCullen, and I didn't want to let her down. Hooray for finally being finished with it! I definitely belong in the computer science field. I'm glad this is what I'm going to making my career with.
In other news, I finally got to see Ratatouille tonight. I absolutely loved it and will write more later. All in all it was a very successful night. Cheers!
